Sun Travel is a small tour company based in Bishkek. We run day tours and short trips into the mountains of northern Kyrgyzstan, and we keep every one of them private.
Your group only
You will not be put in a minibus with strangers. The vehicle, the driver and the guide work for your group alone, even if that group is two people. It costs more than a seat on a coach, and it is the only reason to choose us: you leave when you are ready, stop where you want to stop, and spend as long at the lake as you feel like.
One guide, start to finish
The person who answers your first message is the person who plans your day, meets you at your hotel and stays with you until you are dropped off. Not a sales desk, not a rota of different guides — one person who remembers the conversation.
Routes we have walked ourselves
We do not put anything in a programme we have not done. Every tour on this site has been walked, driven and timed by our own team, more than once. That is how we know which path is slippery after rain, which stop is worth the extra twenty minutes, and where the light is best in the late afternoon.
English-speaking guides
All of our guides work in English. If you would prefer another language, ask — we can usually arrange it with notice.
What we promise, and what we do not
We promise an answer within the hour during working hours, prices agreed in advance with no surprise charges on the day, and a plan B for weather. Where a ticket is paid on the spot — the Sky Bridge and zipline at Chonkurchak, for example — we say so on the tour page, so you can decide for yourself.
We do not promise perfect weather, and we will not put you on a river or under a paraglider on a day when conditions are wrong. When that happens we move the date.
